FIGHTING HUNGER, ONE BOWL AT A TIME!

Join Loaves & Fishes of Tompkins County for our signature fundraising event of the year, Empty Bowls! The event will take place on Saturday, October 17th,  2-6pm, in our dining hall at 210 N. Cayuga St in Ithaca.

Empty Bowls is a unique fundraising event where artists come together to craft and donate hundreds of bowls to be sold as part of this special event. Our goal is to raise $60,000, with 100% of proceeds directly supporting our meal and advocacy programs and ticket sales make this possible.

With the price of an event ticket, guests can choose a beautiful bowl to take home as a reminder of all of the empty bowls in our community. A tasting of signature dishes from multiple local restaurants will be served, accompanied by music, and a variety of raffle prizes from beloved local businesses and partners of Loaves. Ticket sales and all proceeds support the fight against hunger through Loaves & Fishes of Tompkins County.

Over the last year, the rising costs of housing, food, and energy challenged our budget. We see that the implementation of more stringent SNAP eligibility requirements and cuts to assistance programs will increase demand; however, our commitment to feeding people and providing hospitality, companionship, and advocacy is stronger than ever. The financial support of this community in the face of uncertainty helped us provide over 67,000 thousand meals in the last twelve months, filling bellies and souls!
